Piano Bench

Well, it's been a while! I've been busy working on some projects (photos to come). During which, I completed a mini project of my own. First, let me say how happy I am to have a piano in my house. It's also a very special piano, it was my Uncle Jimmy's who passed away a long time ago, yet, having this piano of his with me makes me feel somewhat closer to him than ever.

On to the project...well the piano is from the 80's and needed some pizazz. The easiest thing to do was to change out the worn fabric on the bench. I found some beautiful fabric on and simply stapled it onto the seat. Very happy with it, and yes, find myself staring at it pretty regularly. Now to get this thing tuned so it can stop sounding like I'm playing in a saloon. Enjoy!

BEFORE: the piano is in beautiful condition (minus the seat)

thankfully discovered that after removing a few screws, the cushion comes out. easy easy!

cut and ironed the fabric, lots of cute fabric designs on this site

simply used a staple gun to secure the fabric on the back of the cushion

and ta-da!! my new beautiful piano bench!
love it...
had a hard time stopping taking pictures of it
Grand total for this project: $9

Also have to point out the beautiful dove that my friend, Brandy, made for me. I'll eventually be doing some kind of collage with photos above the piano. I was given the below pictures of my uncle playing the piano and little me playing an old piano. This will definitely be on/above the piano. <3

Thankful for the lovely gift of this special will be used and appreciated immensely.

More DIY projects and photos to come!
